UPDATE March 23, 2019 09:30:35 A former pancake and ice cream maker in Lakeview has been forced to close its business after the city found out that its freezer wasn’t properly stored.
The Lakeview-based company, The Pancake House, said it had no reason to suspect that its equipment was not safe.
It said it is planning to file for bankruptcy and has been in talks with creditors to close.
Lakeview Mayor Steve Bellamy says the city will continue to provide the service.
He says the company was not the only one that had equipment malfunction.
Bellamy says his office is working with a local emergency management company to investigate.
He said it would be a “great relief” if the company closed its business.
The city said it discovered the problem on March 23.
Lake View has not released the names of the business owners.
