Full House’s Full House cast gets new names, movie, TV show details
Halfway House returns to NBC this fall after a 10-year hiatus with a reboot starring the stars of Full House and How I Met Your Mother.
The show, which starred Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ashley Benson, and Will Arnett, is a musical comedy about a group of friends who get into a feud with a rich young woman (Louis-Dray) after she turns them down for a romantic gesture.
The episode, titled “Laughing,” follows the cast as they attempt to overcome their awkward relationship and navigate their new life together.
The cast also includes Full House alum Eliza Coupe, who voices the character of Maggie (Coupe), the daughter of a wealthy billionaire.
“I am thrilled to finally be on the show and look forward to having my daughter grow up with the love and understanding of my father,” Coupe tweeted in the week following the premiere.
The first episode of the new series, which premieres on Oct. 7, is available on Hulu.
Here are some of the cast’s new names: Lizzie McGuire (Mad Men) is the executive producer on the reboot.
She will serve as an executive producer and showrunner, along with writer-producer Scott Miller.
She has also executive produced shows like the sitcom The Goldbergs and the NBC pilot The Love Boat.
She and her husband have four children, ages 10 to 18.
“We are thrilled to be bringing Lizzies McGuire to Full House, as the show has proven so popular on the CW network,” said Matt Lucas, executive producer of Full Season.
“She has such a unique voice and unique perspective that we’re really excited to bring her to the show.”
Abby Elliott (American Horror Story) is one of the show’s creators.
She also serves as an exec producer and writer.
She said the show will follow the group’s adventures in their hometown, with the help of the late show host, Michael Murphy.
“Abby is a huge fan of Fullhouse and I am so excited to be returning to her beloved franchise,” Lucas said.
“Famously, she was the one who brought Lizzi to Full house, so we are honored to have her join us for the first time.”
The new series will also be set in the fictional town of South Central Los Angeles, where the group lives in the home of former Full House star Kim Richards.
“The South Central LA we see on Full House is so unique and so diverse and we are thrilled that Abby will join us to bring that world to life,” Lucas added.
“It will be great to work with our beloved cast and crew and we look forward the return of Kim Richards to Fullhouse.”
The full season of Full Houses, which returns to Netflix in October, will include three new episodes, which will be available on the streaming service.
“Our commitment to FullHouse is to be true to the characters and the show, while also continuing to develop new relationships and storylines,” said Netflix in a statement.
“While we are still in the planning stage for Season 4, we are excited to continue to grow our original cast and to introduce our newest additions to the Full House universe.”
“We’re thrilled to see Lizzy McGuire join Full House for the second time as one of our cast members, Abby Elliott, and we can’t wait to hear her story and see what she brings to the cast,” said Lauren Greenfield, Vice President, Original Programming and Programming, NBCUniversal Television Group.
“As a showrunner on FullHouse, Abby is an amazing talent with an amazing background.
She brings the passion and enthusiasm of a Full House fan to the role of Maggie.”
The show will also introduce the new character of Kim, who is the mother of a group who travels the country to meet new people and reconnect with her family.
“Kim’s presence on Fullhouse will be a wonderful part of the season premiere and she will play a very important part in the characters lives,” said Greenfield.
“A woman who has been an inspiration to many of us and a family who is constantly looking for their next family member.”
This is the first season of the reboot for Full House.
