A restaurant chain is trying to help consumers make healthier choices.
The Waffle House chain announced on Friday that it’s ending the use of chicken, pork, beef and fish in its menus.
It’s also eliminating some animal products, such as beef, turkey and cheese.
Waffle House announced in February that it would phase out its use of animal products by 2026.
Waffles are known for their high-protein, low-fat and dairy-free menu items.
Wagemakers have been trying to get consumers to eat plant-based diets, but the companies are focusing on healthful foods that are healthier than traditional food sources.
A company spokesman told The Associated Press that the chain will continue to promote veganism.
