Apple released a fix for a Mac crashes that occur when a user launches a program that doesn’t have the required permissions, a new fix that is available for free on the Mac App Store.
The fix works on OS X 10.10.5 and earlier.
Users can install the fix from the Mac app store by following these steps:Go to the Mac’s General > Utilities menu, and click the “File” icon in the upper right corner.
In the “Mac Utilities” window, click the small button that says “Add file…”.
In the window that appears, click “Open with…”.
Click “Add a new file…”, then click “Add new file.”
In the new window, check “No other files were added.”
Click “OK” to accept the terms and conditions.
Click OK once more to continue.
In a second window, enter a filename.
Click the + icon next to the filename, and then click the “+” icon next the filename to delete it.
Click the “Delete” button to delete the file.
After deleting the file, the OS X software should now recognize the new file and display it in the Finder.
Click “Add” to add a new folder or folder extension.
For example, you could add a folder called “myapp.txt” to the right of the folder extension you added.
You can now install the new app and resume your day.
